IFN Islamic Investor Awards

Islamic Finance news is delighted to announce the launch of the second IFN Islamic Investor Awards, celebrating the best and brightest in the Islamic asset management industry across the globe. Nominations are now open, with the awards being handed out at the prestigious IFN Awards Ceremony held in both Dubai and Kuala Lumpur next year.

The Awards represent a metamorphosis in the way the elite of the industry are acknowledged and applauded.

Submissions for the IFN Islamic Investor Awards will be gathered during the month of September with a closing date for nominations of the 23rd October. The winners will be announced in Islamic Finance news on the 4th November issue of the weekly newsletter. A winner and one runner-up will be announced in each category.

Judging process: Submissions will be evaluated by an independent and expert judging panel, which will determine winners based on its collective industry experience and expertise as well as on individual nominations, to ensure the fairest and most comprehensive decision.

  • Best Islamic Asset Management Company in the Americas

  • Best Institutional Solutions Provider of the Year
  • Best Fund Distributor (Private / Retail Bank)
  • Best Regional Fund Performance

Criteria Required:

  1. Firm name, address
  2. Contact name, designation, telephone and email
  3. Date of submission
  4. Total AUM, total Shariah compliant AUM and AUM annual % growth 2013-14
  5. Total number of Shariah compliant funds under management (note any new launches in the last 12 months)
  6. Category being nominated (a new form is to be completed for each category)
  7. List of Islamic funds / mandates under this category

For each relevant fund:

  1. Fund manager & number of analysts
  2. Fund type, objective, asset class/theme/sector focus and launch date
  3. Asset allocation/weighting
  4. Fund size, AUM, NAV & % growth (where relevant)
  5. Annual and YTD returns + performance against benchmark
  6. Short synopsis on your chosen category (max 250 words)
  7. Short synopsis on the past 12 months’ activities in this category (max 500 words)
  8. Any further information you feel may assist in your case (max 250 words)

Submission Guidelines:

  • Submissions must be no more than two pages in length, in bullet format
  • State clearly at the top of the deal page, which categories that particular deal is being nominated for. If it is not clearly stated it will not be considered.
  • Please mark ‘Confidential’ if certain information should not be published
  • Only one submission per category — a new form must be completed for each category
  • Only those funds launched in the last 12 months (1st September 2014 — 31st August 2015) will be considered
  • Submissions to be provided in soft format in either excel, word or PDF format
  • Closing date for submissions: 23rd October 2015

Results will be announced in the 22nd October issue of Islamic Finance news.

The decision of the Awards Committee is final. A short brief will be published for each award providing the committee’s reasoning. All criteria of the submitted deals will be considered.

Awards Dinner: The Awards will be distributed at the IFN Investor Forum held in Dubai in April 2016.
